PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION:

Bedford Primary School offers a variety of preschool opportunities. 

These programs receive funds from the local, state, and federal levels. Programs are contingent upon funding & program locations are subject to change. Eligibility to participate is based on state and federal guidelines. Enrollment begins with children who are most eligible based on the application process.

Preschool application intake will take place both in person and online. Below are the dates of in-person application opportunities throughout the county. Preschool applications will be accepted on the BCPS Preschool Website beginning February 23, 2026. PowerSchool Enrollment will open for 2025-26 preschool students on June 1, 2026.

Preschool application intake will be coordinated with Virginia Preschool Initiative, Head Start, and Mixed Delivery/Bedford YMCA. Families apply for preschool, and children are placed in the appropriate program based on eligibility and availability.

USE OF DIGITAL DEVICES IN THE CLASSROOM

The VDOE released Health and Safety Guidelines in June regarding the appropriate use of digital devices in the classroom. The guidelines address three main components to support teaching and learning:
• Device use in the PK-12 classroom
• Screen time and necessity of breaks
• Ergonomics and posture
