Wash your hands often with soap and water. If water is not available use an alcohol based hand sanitizer. This is the # 1 way to prevent the spread of infections.

Remind children to cover their nose and mouth with tissue when sneezing or coughing.

See to it that children avoid touching their eyes, nose and mouth; germs often spread this way.

Clean items in your home that come in frequent contact with hands. These include door knobs, phones, faucets handles and counter tops.

Get plenty of rest and eat breakfast each day. If there is not enough time to eat at home, try breakfast in the school cafeteria.

Dress appropriately for the weather. Layering with extra clothes is always a good idea. If the child becomes warm a layer can be taken off.

If your child has a fever over 100 degrees or has repeated diarrhea or vomiting please keep them at home.
