Lisa Dellis, Principal
Dear Bedford Primary School Parents and Guardians,
I am excited to begin another year at Bedford Primary School and look forward to working with each student and family. I also look forward to working with the excellent staff and supportive community as we to continue to assist our students. We continue to be proud of the social, behavioral, and academic progress that our students continue to make with the support of their teachers, family, and the community as a whole. Our theme for the upcoming year is "Making Tracks Together." As a part of this theme, you will see railroad tracks, lion tracks and other animal tracks displayed throughout the building. Please join us in celebrating the learning of all of our students.
The school schedule for the 2015-2016 school year remains the same as last year’s schedule. Our instructional day begins promptly at 7:55 a.m. and ends at 2:25 p.m. To ensure student safety, students will be allowed to enter the building no earlier than 7:25 am when staff are available to provide supervision. If you bring your child to school after 7:55 a.m., he/she will be tardy and you will need to sign them into school on the office computer. Breakfast is available in the cafeteria from 7:25-7:50 a.m. If your child is a car rider, please ensure that they arrive early enough to allow them time to eat breakfast and not miss important instructional time.
Please remember that car riders should be dropped off and picked up at the side entrance to the cafeteria, and only bus riders will be dropped off in the front circle. This enables us to closely monitor the safety of all students. Should you choose to park and walk your child into the building, please be sure to use the sidewalks and crosswalks as opposed to walking across the front drive between buses to ensure safe arrival and dismissal. Dismissal will begin at 2:25 p.m. each day and will be completed by 2:55 p.m. If your child needs to go to a different location on any afternoon, please remember to send a note to the teacher or call the school prior to dismissal and by 2:00 p.m. if at all possible to allow time for the change to be communicated to your child’s teacher.
Visitors are welcome at Bedford Primary School and are required to sign in and out at the office for each visit. Visitors are encouraged to visit students and teachers before school, during lunch, and after school. To assist students in maintaining focus on the teacher’s instruction, visits to the classroom during instruction is discouraged. If you need to visit during instruction, please schedule this visit in advance through your child’s teacher or the office.
I look forward to working with each and every child and parent as we celebrate learning. I know that this will be another great school year!
